National Suicide Prevention Lifeline & Crisis Text Line

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States. They are committed to improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention by empowering individuals, advancing professional best practices, and building awareness.

Safe2Help Illinois

Safe2Help Illinois is a 24/7 program where students can use a free app, text/phone, and website (Safe2HelpIllinois.com) to share information on school safety issues in a confidential environment. Once vetted, the information provided will be shared with local district and school officials and/or local PSAP/9-1-1- call center, depending on the nature of the information shared.

Contact of Northern Illinois

CONTACT takes calls from abused or addicted adults, lonely seniors, teens, and individuals threatening suicide. In addition to our help line, we provide, Reassurance CONTACT, phone calls for medication reminders, daily check ins, Teen Crisis helpline, kid phone, and information and referrals. CONTACT of Northern Illinois has been serving Stephenson County since 1981.

Safe School Hotline

Safe School Hotline is provided to help students and parents to be guided on how to handle and report incidents at school.

You can call the number any time of the day or night to report concerns about unsafe or potentially disruptive activities or situations including drug or alcohol abuse, weapons, harassment, bullying or threats.
